Aligning to the basic is ground work and preparation. It is a ground work which prepares us to experience the highest. Preparation is the toughest part of the practice to maintain and it is the connecting action to be part of the greater flow.
When the preparation is solid, growth is inevitable.
When ground work is laid out mindfully, it is not that hard to experience the deeper flow of the practice. When we tap into this flow, limitation starts to dissolve and we will experience the sense of aliveness in what we do.
Someone who is good at what they do is that way simply because they have done their ground work thoroughly. And if we are seeking to experience the highest, then we must not skip the dirty work. In the dirty ground work, most of life's wisdom is hidden. This is the place where we understand the matrix of the practice not in advanced work. Advance is built up by every single dirty and hard steps.
So don't get bored to align with the ground work, the dirty work. When the bored attitude comes in, it makes us act with sloppiness and it means we are not being aware of the moment and the practice. Bored mentality makes us skip the necessary steps. It is hard to understand how the process unfolds and it's hard to embody the practice. So, instead of getting bored, remind ourselves to connect to the practice wholeheartedly by remembering the intention and allow it to fuel us and be courageous to do the ground work. If we do that, we will spark ourselves and understand the matrix of practice eventually.
If we are doing the basic work and we are not going anywhere, then we are simply not doing it right. When the stagnation comes in, it is a place where we can pause and reflect to see why we experience limitation and how to invite the action that can enliven the practice. Then, move from the place of limitation to the place of deconstruction where the deeper pattern lies. When we start to let go of the deeper pattern, we recognize how simple the practice can be.
Limitation is a reminder that we have lost touch in the basic alignment with nature.
A practitioner who ignores the basic ground work of the practice, stagnation is bound to happen, the restriction is inevitable. And when this happens, madness, frustration, anger is bound to come in especially when we are placing effort into the practice. Aches and pains are the signs for us to get back to the basic. They are messages that we have forgotten to maintain the simple knowledge and action of basic.
The world is on a race, a race to experience more. And, this race has made us forgotten about the simple ground work.
If our mind is on the race, then the practice of aligning to the basic may be a good practice for our body and mind.
This practice will help us to anchor. When we are anchored enough we will start to see the shift in life and practice. In the beginning we may struggle to stay with the simplicity of the practice and if we stay, we will be able to connect with it in time and this practice will gradually become a therapeutic practice for our whole being.
The world is always offering us all the time. Especially when there is so much sharing in social media. When we see other’s work of art online, our mind seeks to emulate that. Seeking to align with the highest is a natural process. However, when we see the outer form, it makes us forget the work we are aligned with. It triggers us to skip the steps that is necessary in the practice. At the same time we must also recognize that sometimes things take time. We must have patience in our practices. By seeing the outer form and pushing the body to align with it, we will end up breaking our body and mind.
When we push without the basic, we actually invite more suffering to ourselves, and it will probably put out the same energy to our surroundings without us even knowing. Instead of pushing, we can pause to witness the practice from a distant, we can see what is blocking us to move further in the practice.
Once we start to do the ground work, our practice starts to shift. Inspiration flows from within and that is the best flow we could ever experience. Abundance of growth, beauty, insight and love come from within by taking the mindful steps.
Success is hidden in the basic, the rest is just the touch up.
Basic is a never ending practice. It is safety, it is a therapeutic approach to get rid of pains and aches. Basic is good for everyone, even for advanced practitioners.
We must realize that the highest resides in the lowest. All the grand openings of practice and life come when we acknowledge the basic.
May we participate with awareness to be free.
